(Billboard) — For fans of Nicki Minaj, the hip hop artist has turned negative news into a positive.
Minaj has announced her upcoming single “Anaconda” will be delayed by a week. Though she’s taken the edge off the news with another revealing promo photo.
The rapper sent social media into a spin last week when she posted the record’s seductive artwork, in which she’s facing back while squatting, and wearing a pink sports bra and thong.
The track was slated for release on July 28. But overnight, she announced via her Instagram page that it would now have a street date of Aug. 4. “My darlingz, I’ve pushed the release of Anaconda to next week, Monday 8/4. I promise you will understand why before the week is out. Loveeeeeeee uuuuuu”. The news is captioned alongside another pink-themed workout photo. This time she’s facing the camera.
“Anaconda” is the second single lifted from “The Pink Print” and it’s produced by Polow Da Don and Da Internz. An accompanying video was shot in Los Angeles by director Colin Tilley, but there’s no word yet on its release date.
The video for the first single, “Pills N Potions,” was released in June.
